A good read, I wish her luck.

I had hoped she would have followed up with beams at the MPLEX. All she really did with this statement is get the CAVEs stirred up.

Dawn: "Then the message above came through this weekend about the beams in the facility. Are we able to get concerts after all? I need more information for certain." ......." ... I should have known that possibly more items would come out that might make it deficient for events. Now I'm getting tidbits of info here and there. And what else is yet to come?"

Despite what her detractors might say of her I believe that Dawn is on the right track here.
Far too often we have seen this and the past council hampered by secret meetings, secret discussions and a total lack of information. It has bred a lot of contempt and controversy in this city.
Really who is the master here?
Is it administration or is it the council? Under the Cities Act who s responsible to review and make changes tothe budget? If you read carefully it is the elected officials and not the hired staff that are paid to administer and carry out the wishes of council.
Without this information how can any council decide what is a necessity or what is a frill?
Could council make a truly objective decision without this information?
Big thing is if there isn't any backdoor garbage going on why not make all of this public so that the voters can review it and then make their choices based upon it?

Bring us up to speed Doc - did the MOB answer the questions about the beams? I have not heard anything yet.

I know Mr. Swanson was left hanging along time on his questions to the MOB so I can not see it being any different for Dawn.

I think Doc is right on this one. She does this just to satisfy a small group of people - how many people voted for her last election anyways?

Orvile, I don't know if the issue of the beams was ever presented to the MOB? Like I said, it would be nice to get more info on this, Dawn Brought it up. To my knowledge there has been no more info on this.

And don't get on my case about this, I'm not trying to malign Dawn Luhning.

I think she is setting herself up for a run at the mayor's seat. i.e. Arguing for transparency, council meetings on the net, folksy blogs, facebook.

You could be correct about that as it seems Hagel is NOT going to run again.
Many people last time wanted her to run for mayor but I think that she feared the Hagel juggernaut.
I had one of the big supporters of the Multi-Plex tell me that his opinion was that Hagel was using the mayor's chair as a stepping stone back to the Legislature.
Over the past little while it seems to me that Hagel is not as jovial as he once was.

City Of Moose Jaw Councilor Dawn Luhning did receive the most votes of any councilor in the last civic election.
