I believe cats are quite happy indoors, and much safer as well. Had a friend that put a little bell on her cats collar so he couldn't sneak up on birds.

I have three cats. The closest they have ever been to a bird was the time they were all perched at the front door watching two birds through the screen, the birds took off and three cats couldn't move fast enough to get to safety away from the door...killer birds and all that, lol.
I do not allow my cats outdoors. I don't want to find one of them on either the missing list, the dead on the street list...or killed by a dog. My cats don't understand that dogs should be their mortal enemy, they have been raised with two dogs.
If people would only spay or neuter their pet cats, they would find that that pet loses a lot of inclination to get out and wander.
My last and third cat was found locked in a cat carrier in front of that church on 10th S.W....she and another cat had been crammed into a small carrier and left there, the first woman who stopped to investigate said that she had seen the carrier there for a number of days and curiousity got the better of her. I took the kitten home, the adult cat made itself very scarce when the door was opened...I had doubts the kitten would live, she was so thin.

When I read about your third cat maybe Glady needs to focus on a different solution to the problem --- and spay or neuter the irresponsible cat owners, that ought to lower their numbers and probably eliminate the problem.

I stand by the saying 'owning a pet is not a right, it's a responsibility'...I can't count how many times over the years I've heard irresponsible people state that they want their children to see the 'miracle of birth.' I say...take them and let them see the miracle of death, so many of these poor animals are destroyed yearly due to lack of a home...
Discover is full of people looking to rehome their pets...and that makes me wonder, why did they aquire the pet in the first place?
