Sledge-most of the senior managers here got the job because someone liked them (or they went to the right church) then got a degree from Athabasca University (correspondence). Guaranteed they'd never get a job in the private sector-let alone at their current wages. This district isn't alone-since they changed the health districts, all of them have seen a huge jump in management(and bed cuts).

New management or existing management pay increases?
According to http://www.fhhr.ca/Policies/Annual%20Re ... 0_2011.pdf there has been some very nice increases in salaries!

Looks like we have two less people in Senior Management in 2011 but wages still went up $265,000 over 2010.

Maybe it has something to do with work load!

That was said tongue-in-cheek...but apparently they've discovered the joy of "consultants"-they bill the wards, don't show up as management. And there are middle managers-got my golden handshake from the"Director of Long-time Service Awards"-that was a new ,needless position, considering how front line staff has been cut.

Or maybe it is because they are employing the City's model for administration....
