On Saturday night, at 7pm, I was able to find street parking on the 300 block High Street West and the zero block High Street East. Pretty good for a game night, I'd say.

I'm proud to say that I use the bus regularly although it can be hard getting places on time if you have a busy schedule. And there's nothing wrong with STC service either.

So far, at least, it appears the city’s park and ride pilot project is only drawing small numbers, but Moose Jaw Transit supervisor Kim Burnside said he hopes to see usership for the service increase as more people find out about it in the weeks ahead.

“People have to get orientated to what’s out there, and it’s their own choice,” he told the Times-Herald.

However, Burnside said the service from pickup points to Mosaic Place for large events hasn’t drawn a large crowd since it started on Sept. 1. The pilot project runs until the end of October.

He said, in fact, for the Moose Jaw Warriors first exhibition game at the beginning of September, only 13 people were reported using the service

I actually drove up to the Civic Centre on this first night and there was NOBOBY parked in the assigned area, nor were there any people that I could see getting on the bus.
Time to dump this money waster and do the taxpayers a big favour.

But in his "Throne" speech-Hagel says there were 80 on Thurs. & reaction has been positive-what would it take to make this idiot say that it's a flop!

When I asked Glenn in the spring about the Park N Ride he said it would be run as a User Paid service. So if we have 80 riders I imagine that would be 40 there and 40 back to their cars at $2 a piece that would bring in a total of $160.00

There is 4 buses and wages for the drivers - I think we better be doing a quick calculation on the $2 ride fee.

Buses start at 6 and go to 11 on game night so wages for four drivers for 5 hours has to be more then $160.00

Unless we are paying the drivers $8 a hour - Ha Ha Ha

Noticed last night on the corner of 16th and Couteau they cleaned the parking lot and still got a turnout of zero cars.

Cruising by the Civic Centre there were 4 cars.

Not sure why they are cleaning the lots for the Warrior fans - I thought they all drove 4 wheel drives!

Presently each rider on the Park and Ride bus is being subsidized at a rate of about $10.25 per ride.
This is purportedly going to cost the transportation budget about $100,000 that will not and is not being charged to the Multi-Plex subsidy, but rather it is coming out of the transportation budget.
Perhaps it is time for this experiment to stop.
