Multiplex Parking

Postby Orvile » Mon Dec 26, 2011 8:52 pm

Driving by our Multiplex I noticed today that a chain link fence has poped up around the Old Royal Hotel lot.

Also on the Brunswick site and Nevada Nickels there is some Cement barracades and looks like they might be doing the same.

Anyone know what is going on here?????

Also notice a few spots with reserved parking signs for Strictly Fencing and Cypress paving. Anyone know who is renting these spots out?

I thought that they were suppose to do some work with the utilities in the area for the new development.
But I thought it was suppose to be done in the fall.

With this massive recreation project (Mosaic and the Field House) completed, I bring up the lack of any parking for either.

City Council voted (not all for) to take money from the Contingency Fund to pave the Field House parking lot. This SHOULD HAVE been included in the original construction costs. Bloody dumb design-build procedure; BRAIN DEAD stuff, designed to allow COWBOY POLITICS to spend much more taxpayers money than necessary...

Our infrastructure is in horrible shape and these people SAY the WHL demanded we upgrade the "Can" or build a new arena. COWBOY POLITICS decreed, without much thought, that a new one would be built. Damn the cost. Build it downtown where certain people might benefit by having the city purchase their property; no concern that it was the worst possible site available in terms of traffic parking and flow.

Sidebar - the "wonderful" design-build process left out a few things at Mosaic...

Parking, support for music concert event lighting nonexistent, horrible setup for semi trailers to get to Mosaic's large door and...

...an architectural design that will dump major snow westerly down River Street and beyond (Do not believe me? Go to 200 or 300 block of Home Street W. on South Hill, look at Mosaic, and imagine a fierce winter storm from the west dumping a meter of snow on us... with a 70 kph wind from the west running that snow down the airplane wing [venturi effect - accelerates it] of Mosaic and onto River St.).

Wow this arron person is like sledge on speed.
Talk about covering all the negative stuff (real or perceived) in record time, and with that inanimate CAPS lock button. Everything from parking, traffic flow, contigency funds, pavement, construction, BRAINs that are dead, COWBOYs (why bring them into this?), lighting, design build, semi trailer parking, winter storms,

AND (I like this one)

the VENTURI AFFECT of RIVER street.

I wish they would leave the COWBOYS out. We had one pledge a million dollars to the project and is helping MJ host the Canadian Cattlemens bonspeil here in February!

Doc and Panda girl. I overheard this tonight, from a person in the know who was at the grand opening...you explain. Because no one else could.
The Multimess had a budget of $40,000 for the grand opening...plus another $10,000 from Golden West Radio. The staff were rude to the two who were hired to play at this opening. They, being the multimess board I suppose, figured that they should only pay Megan Nash and the fiddle player a hunded and fifty dollars each. Nash made a big deal of this and eventually they were both paid $750 each.
So what happens to the money that was slotted for this great event...you tell me.
As for Arron is saying...it all makes sense to those who can take off the multimess blinders and see that white elephant for what it really is.

HA HA!! I'd love to see a copy of this cowboy's cancelled million dollar pledge cheque posted here or on the front page of the TH. Does anyone know if he's paid any or all of this pledge???? After all, it was contingent on the building being downtown and that's where it is!!!

I am in a tight spot because we are not allowed to talk about financials of the MOB. They have a certain protocol for this and it is a need to know basis. We have had to tighten all aspects of the MOB up including our secret handshakes and even our meeting locations.

A reason for the negative facts.

They speak to a problem here in Moose Jaw where a select few decide what is right for the entire city. Where glitzy recreation projects that benefit a small percentage of the taxpayers of Moose Jaw are built before ancient core infrastructure is fixed. Where the hospital need serious upgrading or a complete new one. Where streets are badly in need of repair.

Cowboy politics.

The Templar Knights are responsible for this?
