If you ever been to Paris, you would realise what an insult that is.

To Paris or to Saskatoon? Wise me up.....

Hey TD you'll love Saskatoon and I've been here almost 10 years after moving from MJ.

Waitasec, I see you won't be posting any more. Does that mean I shouldn't post? Is it bad if I have an opinion even though I don't live there? Can I at least still argue with Suki?

Good luck with your new position.
Copying and pasting stuff from google and Wikipedia, but only the stuff that backs up my argument

I would think any opinion should be acceptable/welcome on the MJ forum, even though it might be a smidgen more credible if one lives here or is "from here"!!

I sure hope td will keep posting when he can. He grew up here and has family here, and I think he cares about Moose Jaw. What other qualifications would you need? At least he researchs most of what he writes about, unlike some people that just spout insults and garbage.

Thank you., but once my move is complete and I no longer pay taxes here I feel that I shouldn't be trying to shape what is happening here.
Although I have spent most of my life here and now due to my employment responsibilities have to move on to another community I have to move on.
I remember the stories of my grandfather and his coming to the area in hopes of a better life literally with nothing. I can remember the hard times and hard work my family endured to get ahead. All for a better future.
Sad to say I was one of the few in my family that made it to what many would call a better and comfortable life. Some of it was hard work, some of it was getting an education but in reality most of it was just luck.
So many of the people I grew up with have moved on in search of a better life. Belive it or not, but it is good paying jobs and a future for your children that brings people to your community.
Sadly for the last 30 years Moose Jaw has fallen on some very hard times.
We have quite truthfully failed to adapt to the future and paid dearly for it.
Moose Jaw has been too reliant on artificial boosts to our economic future. When we speak about all of the accomplishments here the majority of them are just - in one way or another - handouts from the government.
Oh sure we have our entrepreneurs but in reality they are just out there trying to manipulate the city, province and federal governments to suit their needs - needs that may or may not be for the good of the city and the people living here.
In my opinion they are doing it for greed - they say it is for the city but in reality it is for themselves. Does anyone truly believe that they want to share their podium with people that throughout their lives they saw as beneath them?
Despite what they might say, the Old Boys really hate this site. I know, more than one has told me.
It is something that they really cannot handle. So they do their utmost best to write you off.
The good old days of manipulating the media diminishes because of http://www.moosejawforum.com it takes away control and being that many issues of concern to this city are discussed here it often comes up as either number one or two on a google search.
It infuriates them and they either ignore here, dismiss here as a bunch of behind the times old cranks or as people at City Hall state that people can write anything here.
We need to take a look at the media's history here locally and what this manipulation can lead to. For some such as Graham Michael James he was able to manipulate the local media and the fear it generated to keep up his sick sexual predatory ways. For others in the city, the media has been used to shape public policy to benefit their own needs while people feared to contradict them. In many ways the Internet has helped to level the playing field. Now more than one viewpoint that may not coincide with those of the Old Boys is out there for all to see.
Big problem for them is that most of it is true.
Biggest problem for them it gets people thinking and asking questions, questions they may not like and appreciate.
It has had an effect on the local media as now they - other than the Multi-Plex Express - have changed in many ways to a more critical stance on many issues. Sure there is an ad war going on in the media locally, but to win that war they need to show that they the mainstream media are the source. It draws an audience and can be used to sell ads.
This web-site can be called the Gripe Vine if people so chose, but it is a source of opinions not always appreciated by the powers to be.
