WCLC Sport Select "Pools" game

Hello.

Does anyone else play the Sport Select game "pools"?

I have been playing off and on since the game was created last year. I play football, hockey and baseball "pools". One can play a single ticket for $5.00 or box up to 4 selections; 4 boxes for $80.00, 3 for $40.00, 2 for $20.00 and 1 for $10.00.

The three "pools'" games for this years' NFL schedule have paid out as follows:
Week 1 - 5 winners with 14 out of 15 correct selections paying $18,070.80 each.
Week 2 - 13 winners with 16 out of 16 correct selections paying $10,542.20 each
Week 3 - 1 winner with 16 out of 16 correct selections paying $152,790.00.

I have a problem with the week 3 pool - there were many upsets; the favorite did not win, especially the Patriots - Bills game. The odds of correctly picking 16 right out of 16 games is 65,536 to one. By boxing 4 games one reduces the odds to 4096 to one. One usually boxes games that will be close.
Who is going to box the Patriots - Bills game??? Who would guess that Buffalo would win?

Seems a little fishy to me.

In order to hit the big one, you have to pick a few upsets.

Nothing fishy about it.

I agree, you have to pick a few upsets to win the big one. The problem is the amount of upsets - 6 and the one I stated before: who in their right mind would pick Buffalo to beat New England, or even box the game. That is what is fishy.

Box a long shot, you win either way.

Plus the Bills have been playing good ball.

With football, turnovers are a big thing. A couple of turnovers can completely change the game. In this case four interceptions, things happen.
